On occasion of the 48 hours visit of the Chile's commissioner for the UN Assistance Program for the Palestinian People, Jens Toyberg-Frandzen, was held a meeting in conjunction with representatives of the government, Foreign Ministry, Palestinian organizations in Chile and international agencies, such as UNHCR and the International Cooperation Agency (AGCI), in order to combine criteria and go ahead with a joint and concrete assistance for the Palestinian people.
The objective of this meeting was to find an effective model of humanitarian aid in the most important areas, without imposing aids priorities.
The Ambassador Cristina Lazo, Executive Director of the AGCI, express the Chilean government's interest to support this initiative, together with the Palestinian community in our country.
The diplomat will visit the Palestinian territories in November of the present year to visualize the Palestine situation. The host of this meeting was the UN System coordinator, Mr. Enrique Ganuza.
Among the agreements at the meeting included the preparation of a draft of support areas in which they can work together to assist in humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people.
