After Christ

Between the years 330 to 638
Palestine was under Byzantine government. Christianity spread during this rule. In the year 638 Omar Al-Khattaab came to Jerusalem, putting an end to the Byzantine era and initiating the Arab-Islamic era.

Between the years 661 to 750
Palestine is administered by the caliphate of Umayyads from Damascus. They built the Dome of the Rock (Abd Al-Malik, 685-705) and Al-Aqsa (Al-Walid, 705-715) in Jerusalem, both on the esplanade of the Temple. It is the second most venerated site of the Islam.
